Soul Flowers, written by Joe Hepworth, will be directed by Tor Kristoffersen and will go into production in 2009.
The film follows the life of a farmer in rural Yorkshire as he struggles to let go of the past and come to terms with the present.
Commenting on the commission, Producer Sarah Senior said ”Tor, Joe and I are all over the moon about this commission. We’re really looking forward to the film going into production and the opportunities to work alongside Screen Yorkshire on such an exciting and challenging project.”
Tony Dixon, the Emerging Talent Manager at Screen Yorkshire said ''Each year it gets tougher to select the commissions due to the high standard of applicants and the calibre of projects we are sent. I am, as always thrilled to be working on the scheme with such a talented range of filmmakers and look forward to some amazing short films in 2009.''
Soul Flowers is the second film to be produced by Shoot Productions with UKFC and Screen Yorkshire’s support. The first film, This Way Up (dir: Sarah Punshon) was completed in August 2008 and is currently being entered into festivals both nationally and internationally. |
